About the Book

DedicationThis book is dedicated to the memory of a little girl who went into the Fontan surgery at the same time that Annie did. After opening her chest, the doctors decided that the surgery was too risky to complete. She and her family endured the same recovery process that we did without the benefit of completing the task at hand. Four years later in April, 2004, she was given the option of trying again. After weighing the risks of surgery against the risk of complications endured by not having the surgery, she bravely chose to proceed. Although she made it through surgery, she didn’t survive the recovery and passed away at the age of 11. May we all have half the courage that she had. God bless A.G.
